Barcelona, Spain
Hello and welcome to my first ever blog post, todays post is all about my time in Barcelona, Spain. I visited Barcelona back in 2015 and I loved the photos so much that I had to upload them to my blog.
As you can see Barcelona has such a vibrant artistic scene, the beautiful architecture by the famous Gaudi is definitely worth a look.
Gaudi architecture
You can visit the beautiful Park Guell, pictured above, which you now have to pay an admission fee for however, it’s well worth it!
La Sagrada Familia, also designed by Gaudi, is another famous spot to explore. I didn’t get to see inside the Basilica however, I admired it from the outside. Furthermore, the Basilica is interesting to see at night when it is all lit up.
You do also have to pay to go inside Las Sagrada Familia however, for free you can visit Casa Mila and Casa Batllo (pictured opposite). These buildings are visible from the road side and also offer beautiful Gaudi architecture.
La Rambla
The La Rambla is a thriving part of Barcelona. Down the whole street you will find little market stores, artists and people dressed as statues.
La Rambla would be a great place to pick up a small present for a friend or a loved one.
The Magic Fountain
And finally, to finish off our holiday in Barcelona we took a trip to the Magic Fountain. The Magic Fountain is a light and water show which expels the most beautiful colours to music. The show starts from either 8 or 9 o’clock depending on the time of year. I will leave a link to the times of the show here, it is also completely free to see!
Just be careful at The Magic Fountain as the area gets extremely busy so I would recommend getting there early, as well as keeping your personal belongings close! I had a man try to go into my backpack as we were leaving.
Summary
Overall Barcelona is beautiful. It’s a city break however, you can also chill out on the beautiful 2 mile beach, which we certainly made the most out of. Barcelona is the best of both worlds!
