Cardinham Woods, Bodmin, Cornwall, England
Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog. Todays post is all about Cardinham woods located near Bodmin, Cornwall. Cardinham woods is a mixed woodland great for local dog walkers, cyclists, families and horse riders. I can imagine the woodland changes magnificently with the seasons making for a new experience every time.
Trails
There are 4 different walking trails and 3 cycling trails to pick from (all of which are sign posted.) We did the Lady Vale route which is an accessible route for everyone. It’s pretty flat meaning it’s good for pushchairs and wheelchairs. It follows the river and does a loop which comes back to the car park, the trail is 1.5 miles long. However, there are many other trails which are a bit longer and more challenging.
Facilities at Cardinham Woods
At Cardinham there is also a play area, BBQ and picnic areas and a cafe meaning it is a great place to go for the day. There are a few negatives that I will mention and that is you have to pay for the car park which is £2 for two hours or £5 for the day. This is pretty steep, especially if you’re going to be buying lunch at the very pretty but expensive cafe on site. A way to get around this is to bring your own lunch and have a picnic surrounded by the beautiful woodland!

If you’re in the area why not have a look at Lanhydrock, a country house and estate. You can also check out Golitha Falls and Siblyback Lake which are also a short drive away.
