Activities to do in Cornwall in the rain or during lockdown

I know a lot of us must be feeling pretty fed up and bored by now and not all of us have the privilege of living right next to sea. So, in order to get a bit of Cornwall into your life whether you live in this County or often visit on holiday, I have created a blog post with Cornish themed activities that you can do during lockdown or even on a very rainy Cornish day to help elevate some of that boredom. Without further ado.

1. Cornish jigsaws

Everyone loves a jigsaw from your Nan to your nephew. These Cornish jigsaw puzzles provide a little more scenic appeal than others. From iconic scenes of Newquay*St Ives* and Mevaggisey* you should be able to find one that suits you.

2. Cornish books

Another good thing to do in lockdown is to read books. Most of us seem to now have a bit more time to pick up and read those books we’ve always wanted too. It’s even better when the book provides a from of escapism to the Cornish Coast.

3. WATCH FISHERMAN’S FRIENDS and Poldark

A film I watched on New Year’s Eve in lockdown was Fisherman’s Friends*, it is a heart warming film about a group of fisherman from Port Issac who get signed to a record label and become a sea shanty singing boyband.
Poldark* does that need an explanation? If you haven’t see it and love Cornwall and period dramas I would highly recommend it.

4. TRY SOME CORNISH PRODUCE

Cornwall is famous for its food and drink. Are you craving a Cornish pasty or cream tea? Well, I have linked an amazing Cream tea hamper* and boxes of frozen Cornish Pasties* both available from Amazon.

I have also collated a selection of amazing Cornish alcohol, some of which you may have already heard of others may be new to you, they also make great presents! Only purchase if you are 18+.

All of this Cornish produce you can by online and have delivered straight to your door, very safe and convenient!

5. MAKE A CORNISH PASTY

There’s nothing quite like a homemade pasty. Now that you have some spare time on your hands why not give it a go? It’s fairly simple and easy to do and you can even batch cook and put them in the freezer to eat at a later date. I will link a recipe for you here. Writing a post about how to make a Cornish pasty is on my list of blog posts to do, so sign up to my newsletter to be notified when that comes out.
