5 life lessons I have learnt in 2018

Today’s post is all about 5 life lessons I have learnt in 2018. Well to say the least 2018 has been one of the weirdest, confusing and saddest years of my life. Without going into too much personal detail there has been a lot of losses for me this year, financially and emotionally. So what you see online isn’t someones full story.

I have reflected on the 5 top lessons this year has taught me and tried to put a positive spin on them, as I know dwelling in negativity isn’t the answer. I can’t wait for the New Year to roll around so I can try and get myself back on track.

1. Change

Everything changes whether you want it to or not, so you must learn how to deal with it. Embrace it and view it as something exciting.

2. Trust your gut

My gut instinct is almost always right. I have trouble sometimes listening to it because in new situations I get anxious and blame it on that. However, if a situation or someone gives you a bad feeling then get yourself away before whatever entails rolls out before you.

I always try to be kind to everyone I meet and sometimes go above and

beyond but, that doesn’t always mean that person is going to be kind back to you. That’s okay, continue be kind because I would never want anyone to feel the way they made me feel. Karma will always do its job for you.

4. What really matters

I think something tragic like death can really put life into perspective for you. Death is final and inevitable, it makes you appreciate how short life is and how not to waste it. Death also makes you realise that something that you were once upset over which could be changed or amended is really irrelevant. This is because no matter who you are or what you do, you can’t avoid, replace or bring back something that has died.

5. Continue to learn

Continue to teach yourself things whether that is from books, the internet, people or life experiences. Things happen so you can learn from them and hopefully put yourself on a much better path.
